Common Vision Blox (CVB) is STEMMER IMAGING’s powerful, flexible and innovative vision software for implementing imaging and machine vision applications quickly and reliably. Dr. Jonathan Vickers had joined STEMMER IMAGING as an Applications Engineer in May 2004, having previously worked as a vision integrator with experience of Sherlock, Cognex and CVB.
Vickers’ knowledge of using vision in industry held him in good stead as he took on most of the training for the UK office of STEMMER IMAGING. In July 2007 Vickers became the Technical Manager for STEMMER IMAGING Ltd., maintaining the role of UK Technical Manager with special responsibility for CVB projects.
“My time as an integrator taught me a customer-focus that has been a common theme ever since”, Vickers said. “My experience of CVB stretches back to my very first day working as an integrator in 2001 – my job interview involved seeing an installed CVB Minos system in a high-speed print application! Since then most of my CVB integration experience was in the pharmaceutical, medical device and automotive industries and I am thrilled to be part of such a strong team developing and supplying this fantastic product.”
Christof Zollitsch, Managing Director STEMMER IMAGING, said: “As Jon has a strong background in customer projects and CVB integration he is the perfect person to support the local CVB sales channels. His main task will focus on helping the sales teams to find new customers and of course to promote the product even better than before. We are convinced that Jon is a very good choice and we are happy he is totally excited about this new opportunity and responsibility.”
Vickers succeeds Peter Keppler from the STEMMER IMAGING main office in Germany who became Director of Corporate Sales in July 2015.
STEMMER IMAGING has been leading the machine vision market since 1987. It is Europe's largest technology provider in this field. In 1997 STEMMER IMAGING presented Common Vision Blox (CVB), a powerful programming library for fast and reliable development and implementation of vision solutions, which has been deployed successfully throughout the world in more than 40,000 imaging applications in various industries.
